Well, the surgery is over. When then on Wednesday I was out by Wednesday evening. Surgery went on for about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Right now I am in a ton of pain and the meds that they gave me are s***. Currently right now I am in a soft cast, but will be seeing the surgeon in a little over a week to get my hard cast on. Hopefully I will be able to get something better than the meds that I am on now so I can get some sleep. I sleep on average 2 hour spirts, which really sucks. Soon enough I will be back. I just don't see it coming fast enough.

Just a heads up to those of you that are here looking for support from me, you wont get it till more and likly May. I am undergoing a reconstruction procedure on my left foot that will leave me bed ridden for 8 weeks. If you are looking for support and need it fast, ask here or do a search. You will be surprised what has been answered already.

As for if nobody replies, (staff or community member), try going over to Lonestars website, http://lonestar-modules.com , and asking over there. It will be tough for the next 2 months because it will be up to our great community and Lonestar to really pick up the workload.

Well, see ya'll when I get back, hopefully sooner than later.

Corpse Good Luck with the surgery and I hope recovery goes well.
I will do the upgrade. My last question is. Do I simply update the files or do I need to do the sql database also?

Don't overwrite your public_html/config.php, you can actually leave that because I don't think anything was changed on that. Also, just to be save, i would make a back up of that file.

Thanks also, I hope it goes by fast. If I can get my laptop working, then I think I will do some scripting, but we will see.

Well, the best I can do is give you two options.

  1. Upgrade your site to the latest files. Depending on how much custom editing you have done to the site will dictate what kind of issues your going to have.
  2. Ask Lonestar in a PM on his site if he can help you out with this. I can't, time's up, unless you want to wait. I go in for surgery on Wed and I will be gone for about 8 weeks. If I can get my laptop working right, maybe less, but at a diminished capacity.

You need to get all your files updated with the latest code changes. If you don't, you will continue to have errors. Right now, it's we fix one, then another appears and its going to keep doing that. Only other option, roll back your PHP version to 5.4 if you can, but I recommend that you update your site.

Can you paste your class.identify.php file here. On both a fresh copy and mine on my site, line 182 is just "# mobile phones", so I am wondering what yours is.

Sounds good. I looked at my .staccess file and it has my admin name and a string of random code after it.

Thats correct. That string after your name is your password encrypted.

The AuthUserFile should be linked to your .staccess file. You will get the code to put in its place when you set up Sentinel. I will go over that in my video. I am about to do that now. When i am done with the video, I will post the link here.

Well, I am betting most of those files don't belong.

How long has your site been up?
What custom mods/modules did you have on your site?

To start, I probably start over on the site with fresh files. You probably can keep your DB, but I would start with clean files. Next, I would go over and make sure you didn't create any security holes. I will try doing another video tutorial on that either tonight or tomarrow. If you like to talk more about this, feel free to hop on my TS3, just go to my site and look on the right side of my site for my TS3 info.

Somehow they got on your site and put files through out your site, so I would also change your FTP passwords and limit who has access to that to trusted people. Change also your cpanel passwords for security. Make sure certain scripts are only open for trusted members and make sure Sentinel and the HoneyPot is installed or configured on your site.

Last tip, and this goes out to a bunch in the community, never leave installer scripts on your site. Always delete them once the script is installed. I have worked on a few site where I found like 10+ installer scripts.

But overall, I would get rid of all the files you have and start over with fresh files. The only file I wouldn't delete is the config.php, for that has all your DB info, so at least make a backup of that and upload all fresh files excluding the install.php and the install folder, then just edit in the info from the old config.php to the new config.php.

Question, when you uploaded the new file, did you happen to clear both your sites cache and your browsers cache?

Try this file.

Question, From the time it was last working fine to when it was broken, was there anything changed, uploaded, edited?

I ask because the last few times I seen this was when a few files were corrupted when uploaded/edited because there FTP was set to ASCII instead of binary, or  they had some bad packet loss when uploading and a few files errored out.

How many custom scripts do you have installed on your site. What I mean is, how many files have you edited on your site, if the answer is none, I would try uploading fresh files overwriting the ones there of the core files. Note, you will still have your current theme, which I see needs some work done to it.

Shadz is right, we are pretty much down to just one person, I am in pre-op mode right now. I have surgery in a couple of weeks and will be AFK for about 8 weeks due to it. Till then, I am trying to do what I can before that date.

Redcougarxr7, these errors are showing because your site upgraded its phpversion from 5.4 and below to 5.5 and above, (probably 5.6). Depending on how many custom mods you installed on your site, meaning how many files your edited, will dictate how to fix this. Overall, the easiest way is to replace each file that throws an error with the ones we have updated, or you can open the files and see how we fixed the error and manually do the edits the edits. Another option would be to drop your PHP down to 5.4, but that is if your host allows it.

In this thread here:
http://evolution-xtreme.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6573
I have a list of all files that I have modified. The first post, I have all the edits that have been done and in all the post after, as little updates about the edits I have done. The only other options is to have Lonestar or I to go in and do the edits. In less than 2 weeks, I will be gone for min of 8 weeks due to surgery. So only Lonestar and our great community will be able to assist you during that time..
